Ginindza crowned champion of PGAS Pro-Am tournament

MBABANE-Wandile Ginindza was crowned the winner of the Professional Golfers Association of Swaziland Proam golf tournament.

Ginindza won himself E10 000 for coming tops in the professional golfers section   in the Pigg’s Peak Casino sponsored tournament. The PGAS Pro-Am tournament was played over the weekend at Mbabane Club where there were three categories; profesionals, amateures and juniors.

Ginindza got position one in his category after scoring a gross of 218.There was a tie at position one and the two golfers had to go for a playoff. Second positioned was Meshack Zwane who scored a gross of 218 winning E6 000. Third placed was John Mashego with a gross of 219 while Peter Dlamini came fourth with 223 gross.

Other golfers who got cash prizes for winning in the Professionals section were Raymond Mathonsi, Oscar Dube, Robbie Wesselo, Robert Shiba, Thulani Mkhaliphi and Obert Sithole.
In the amateurs category Colani Dlamini was crowned the winner after scoring 35 points and was followed by Lunga Mavimbela who scored the same number of points. Albert Mavuso and Adreas Mkhatshwa were placed at position three and four with 32 points. Fifth placed was Leon Bashsasha with 31 points while Mfanzile Dlamini came sixth with 31 points. Other golfers who competed in the category were Vusi Dlamini and Clement Nhleko.

The juniors category which was being introduced for the first time had three golfers. The first position went to Jamie Pennington, who was followed Melizwe Fakudze. Gift Zulu got the third position. Nearest to the pin prize went to C. Dlamini at 2/11 and was followed by M.E Dlamini at 8/17. Longest drive also went to C Dlamini.
Nobuhle Dlamini was the guest lady in the tournament .The next tournament will be held in October on a yet to be confirmed date.
