MBABANE- Swaziland Building society champions Recreation Tennis Club were hailed for bringing Hlanganani’s winning monopoly to an end in the SBS League.

Recreation were crowned champions of the league after finishing at the summit on 17 points, just a point ahead of four times winners Hlanganani.
The Mhlume based Hlangan-ani were stopped from winn-ing their 5th consecutive title.

During Friday’s prize prese-ntation Recreation’s captain Martin Gamedze said the club owned its success to their player Bruce Gama who also is coach.
“Today we speak of winning the SBS League title because of Bruce Gama,” the skipper said.
Swaziland Tennis Assoc-iation (STA) president John Mazibuko in his presentation observed that the tournament was very competitive.

“The competitiveness amo-ngst our club is very encou-raging.
“We have witnessed a change from that of partic-ipation to the desire to win.
“Clubs are making every effort to see the competition in the SBS league grow to the extent that a few clubs went to the extent of engaging foreign players,” he said.

Swaziland Building Society (SBS) Operations manager Petros Shongwe commenting on the Hlanganani’s long‘s winning streak.
“On successive occasion we had team Hlanganani dominating the league and the competition was beginning to be monotonous.
However, Recreation cau-sed an upset by winning the league by just one point bet-ter than their rivals. We salute you, by the same token we equally salute the not so successful teams,” he said.
