MBABANE – Just a few days ahead of the big Mbabane derby, Mbabane Swallows has
an ace up their sleeves in the form of former Ajax Cape Town Cameroonian
midfielder Eric Bisser.
The player, who was put on transfer in February by the Ikamva based side, is
among the new players that coach Zenzele ‘Ace’ Dlamini is currently
assessing.
However, a player who preferred anonymity confided with this publication that
the player would definitely sign after impressing at training and in recent
friendly games.
"We are excited at having a player of his calibre around, and I have no doubt
that he will sign. He is one player who can add value to the team," the player
said.
Team secretary Sibusiso Manana reluctantly confirmed that the player is being
assessed by the club with the view of signing him.
"He is here training, but he has not registered as the technical bench is still
assessing him and we are waiting for their recommendation," he said.
At Ajax the player was put on transfer alongside wayward starlet, Mkhanyiseli
Siwahla, Tseu Mokoro, Tasiu Mohammed, and Joseph Masel. He came close to joining
Mpumalanga Black Aces during pre-season but the deal fell through.
The player brings the needed Premier Soccer League (PSL) experience to the
restructured side that has recruited a number of young players that include
Under-20 star player Banele Sikhondze.
Meanwhile, the club has released about three of the foreign players who featured
during the league opener against Young Buffaloes. Among the off loaded are
Malian striker Cisse Boungant and Mozambican left back Eduardo Tamele.
The ‘Beautiful Birds’ who had seven foreigners last season have also off
loaded Sunday Ogana, Derrick Debra and centre back Igor Ugochukwu.
The MTN League runners-up play sworn rivals Mbabane Highlanders in an epic clash
set for Somhlolo Stadium on Saturday at 4pm.
