MY ARROGANT OPINION

We all know about the famous Adam and Eve’s story, but just to cater for those who may not be familiar, here is what basically happened.

God created the first man, Adam, and the first woman, Eve, who lived in the Garden of Eden and were instructed to nurture the land. They were told they could eat from any fruit from the trees except for the tree of good and evil.
He told them that if they ate from the tree they would die. Many say there was no fruit, this was just a representation of something entirely different, an activity: sex. Eve ate the ‘fruit’ after being tricked by the devil to do so and then later convinced Adam to do the same. Translation; Eve had sexual intercourse with the devil, loved it and later had it with Adam.

We, as homo sapiens, do tend to enjoy that which we are forbidden to do. When I was young my mother would tell me to keep away from ice blocks, she would explain what it would do to me but naturally I would block that out and begin to plan how I would get my hands on the ice block without her catching me. My mother had no idea that the words ‘ungacali utsenge’ (don’t you dare buy) meant absolutely nothing to me. As expected or unexpected really, I would gladly buy the ice block, suck it till my lips were numb, and felt absolutely awesome. I was caught 90 per cent of the time and would get terrible hidings, but that’s beside the point.

The idea to be grasped is that because I was forbidden to buy this treat it became so attractive to me, the ice block was heaven but my mother forbade it. There was a thrill and excitement, satisfaction that even came with doing something completely against my mum, something wrong. Same applies to Eve, she may have been tricked but I reckon she was already battling with the idea so she went right ahead, forgot the consequences and enjoyed the ride.
Sex; what is the fuss about? Well from the Adam and Eve tale we can safely say it must be absolutely wonderful, others describe it as the best gift to mankind.

But there always has to be a downside to things, huh; funny or lame, beautiful or ugly, rich or poor. Sex comes with its own monsters; STIs, HIV/AIDS, and teenage pregnancy if one is not careful. Our country has a high rate of the latter; teenage pregnancy. Sex takes two and avoiding teenage pregnancy could be achieved by girls. I am not saying boys should not be mindful of the fact that sex is how babies are made but I am saying a girl should be doubly cautious as she will be the one conceiving, the boy can simply just ‘boink’ and wave goodbye leaving the girl with a bundle of not so much joy.

So girls can consider these two options when they are about to have sex and when the boy has not brought any protection;
Take out the one she has in her purse and get freaky (there should be a condom carried by the girl as well especially if she’s planning on engaging in the activity)
Have the courage to tell him; no we can’t do anything if we don’t have protection.
