MBABANE – If filling up venues was a person, it would undoubtedly be Cassper Nyovest.

The South African award-winning musician rocked the Solani’s Shisanyama stage this past Saturday at a show which is arguably the biggest for the year so far as it went on until the early hours of the morning. Dubbed ‘Cassper Nyovest Don Billiato’, the show attracted thousands of emaSwati or rather ‘Tsibibians’ (fan name for Cassper Nyovest’s followers) who all came to see the ‘Doc Shebeleza’ hitmaker perform for the second time in the kingdom. The show was hosted by SK, who handled his Mceeing duties like a pro as he kept the audience entertained throughout the show.

Prior to the South African entertainer’s performance, sets from Dope Deep, Proness and DJ Tap got the crowd on ‘groove mode,’ where they all delivered spectacular sets as they played Amapiano and Afro-tech house music. The hip hop genre was also represented well during the show as our very own local rappers in Amarii, Lyrikal Busta and Sean Cast were visibly in their element judging from the cheers from the crowd as they would sing along during their performances. Illa Penboy also performed his latest song with South African Instagram influencer,  Mbali Wethu titled ‘Emazambane’ alongside his dancers, Team Amapiano Eswatini’ (TAE). Clad in a blue Balenciaga t-shirt, jeans and the latest Drip sneakers, which he accessorised with his expensive jewellery, Nyovest delivered a spectacular 50-minute set which sent his fans into  frenzy.

The songs he performed were Amademon, Rands and Nairas, Asbonge, Ragga Ragga, Way Up, Baby Girl, Nokuthula and Siyathandana. By the time he performed his famous Amapiano hit with Major League DJs ‘Le Plane E’landile’, the whole venue was abuzz as revellers had the time of their lives. He would now and again engage with the crowd which would sing along to the lyrics of his songs. He then sealed his performance with his break-out hit song ‘Doc Shebeleza’ and thanked everyone for coming to the show. In an interview after the show, Mbabane socialite Tema ‘TK’ Dlamini attested to having a good time during the show as she said: “It had been a while since I went out and I am superpsyched that I got to see one of my favourite artists perform in my own country. Solani’s is such a vibe to be honest.” Sive Simelane on the other hand said he also enjoyed himself during the show. “Sets from DJ Proness and Lyrikal Busta’s performance were really on point. Cassper Nyovest was just the cherry on top for me,” he said.
