MBABANE – Locally-renowned house music producer !Sooks will be releasing his song featuring an international artist once more next month.

Real name Sukoluhle Dlamini, !Sooks has maintained his consistency in terms of releasing music for house music fanatics. In the yet to be released song next month, he has worked with Dwson from Cape Town, who is one of the emerging talents in South Africa who has made a name for himself with his unique sound and brand appeal. In an interview with this publication, !Sooks said this was an unexpected collaboration, but it was bound to happen at some point. He promised his fans that the song was deep house with a touch of electronic music.

!Sooks is a multi-award winning electronic music artist, hailing from the kingdom of Eswatini (Swaziland), whose musical escapades persist in listing him as one of the leaders of the new wave of Southern African electronic music stars. Electronic music is music that employs electronic musical instruments, digital instruments, or circuitry-based music technology in its creation. “Dwson is one of the new wave electronic house music producers who has made a name for himself with his music and I am proud to announce that we have made a song which my fans can expect within the next month on all major digital streaming platforms,” he said.

Among his notable achievements dating back last year, !Sooks signed under Atjazz Record Company in 2020 last year August which was coupled with the release of his four-track Pot Pourri EP. Subsequent to this, the revered music producer’s song was remixed by legendary house music producer Atjazz, the owner of the stable which signed him. Eswatini National Council of Arts and Culture (ENCAC) CEO Stanley Dlamini said: “We are proud to see that our local artists continue to have international collaborations which is a testament that they recognise the talent that we have locally.” His manager, Antidote’s Mmely Hlanze confirmed the collaboration as he said the song would be readily available for fans in October, but the exact date would be announced in due course. He is definitely one of the artists hoisting the country’s flag high as he has also worked and played alongside Vinny Da Vinci, Malik Faquir, Lars Behrenroth, Opolopo and Kid Fonque to name a few. The DJ won ‘Best Compilation ‘for House Music Afrika Vol.9 where his album ‘Symmetry’ was featured in 2019 and ‘Best Underground Record’ for his song Oasis which featured Avi Subban.

Mid-2019 saw Dwson spreading his wings abroad, with a special trip to Berlin, another of the globe’s house music capitals, to release ‘Ethyl’ at Hallo Montag  following less than a month later with a new EP, ‘Bermuda’ released on July 19, 2021, with Jimpster’s UK label, Freerange Records. The artist’s song was also nominated at this year’s South African Music Association Awards (SAMAs) for remix of the year on ‘Ndanele’ featuring Bongeziwe Mabandla. In this category, he was nominated among established names in the SA house music scene including Kid Fonque, Sun El Musician, Claudio, Kenza, Da Capo and Sculptured Music.
