MBABANE – Nominations for this year’s Jumbo Dinner are now closed.

This was confirmed by Jumbo Khumalo, who founded the annual event. He said the build-up to The Jumbo Dinner 2021 was impressive in terms of participation from members of the public. With this, Khumalo said: “As the first phase of our model, we opened submissions for people to send their profiles to contend for the Lifestyle Awards. We then received an average of 130 profiles in each category. In the second phase, we urged the public to nominate their own people into the Lifestyle Awards via all our social media platforms and e-mail address. On average, we received 1 450 nominations.” The Jumbo Dinner aims to be a good corporate player as it has the ‘Kweshumi Mission’ as its corporate social responsibility strategy where 10 per cent of its proceeds are then donated back to the community. He further thanked everyone who had engaged in any way from the contenders up to the people who nominated them. He went on to say that the next phase was now to shortlist the contenders into a number which would then be ready to be voted via SMS.
