SHONGWE & KHUPHUKA’S SONG GETS 1 000 YOUTUBE VIEWS

MBABANE – ‘I wish we could have started earlier. ’  These were the words said by the lead singer of the legendary group called Shongwe and khuphuka, in an interview with the Entertainment Desk yesterday.


 The gospel group managed to get over 1 000 views on YouTube after uploading their song titled ‘Biza uJesu’ a few weeks ago.
 Reverend Elias Shongwe shared their excitement on the warm responses on the digital space, as it was their first time to upload their content.

 “We are honoured, at the same time we are angry for not jumping into this opportunity from the beginning.” he said.
 He went on to share that this was another way of marketing their craft.
 “We never knew that we could also tap into the digital space to sell and market our content.


‘‘I would definitely advise other artists to join the digital world especially during the pandemic,” he added.
It is worth noting that the Association of Christian Artists in Eswatini President Phetsile Masilela, also shared that artists need to venture into the digital world and use the current situation at their advantage as events are suspended.

She shared that; this will be another way for artist to market their content: “Firstly we would like to congratulate Shongwe for exploring the positive during the current situation.


‘‘We would also like to encourage other artists to jump and recognise this opportunity as it is the only option we have for now,” she said
On another note Shongwe will be dropping a new album soon.


 “I will be using the digital platform on my upcoming album and I hope people will love it and enjoy the messages,” he added.
