MBABANE – Minister of Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Harries Bulunga, has shown support towards Shiba and Travellers’ revival and fund-raising event.

The minister, who is better known as ‘Madze’, met the founder and lead singer pastor Vusi Shiba on Monday afternoon where he was presented with a replica VIP ticket to the show plus a free copy of the gospel group’s latest album.

It was during this presentation, which was held at the minister’s office in Mbabane, he threw his weight behind the show. Bulunga did not only show support but he further promised to invite other legislators to attend the show which is scheduled to take place on Saturday night at Prince Mfanyana Hall. Bulunga promised to show up at the event.

Important

The minister said it was important for his office to show support to artists and the local arts industry.
Upon presenting the minister with the VIP ticket Shiba said he was excited to be receiving support from this particular ministry.
“We are so honoured as artists and we hope to see the minister at the show. What he has done has really encouraged us and we appreciate his support,” Shiba said.

The event PRO Menzi Mthethwa also confirmed the support from the minister and said they had officially invited him to the show on Monday.
One of the gospel artists who will perform on the night, Bishop Vusumuzi Maculuve, said the show would be powerful.  “We encourage the nation to join hands and come in numbers to show support to one of the gospel music legends. Shiba contributed immensely in the music industry as far as traditional gospel music is concerned. He needs our support,” he said.
Maculuve further said he was happy to learn the minister could attend the show as he said they would address their challenges directly to him.
Tickets to the show are selling at E70 for general while the VIP tickets are retailing at E100. The tickets are available at Mgavuza, Sdeez, All Nations churches and Ocean Basket outlets.
