STD BANK DEMANDS E215 000 FROM TIYAS

MBABANE - Standard Bank Eswatini is demanding over E200 000 from popular RnB artist Tiyas.
The real name of the popular RnB crooner is Tiyamike Maziya.


The money, according to the bank was in respect of a personal loan it advanced to the award-winning artist.
Through its attorneys, Standard Bank Eswatini has since instituted legal proceedings against Maziya where it is demanding E215 670.63. This comes after the artist reportedly failed to service the loan.


Loan


In its particulars of claim, the bank submitted that on or about May 6, 2016, it entered into a loan agreement with Maziya. The bank alleged that it loaned and advanced to the defendant (Maziya) a sum of E200 000.


According to the bank, the material, express and implied terms of the loan agreement were that;  It would loan and advance Maziya the sum of E200 000 and that the purpose of the loan was for personal use.


It was also allegedly agreed between the parties that Maziya would pay monthly instalments in the sum of E5 188.11.
Another implied term of the agreement was the loan period was to be for 60 months.


Standard Bank Eswatini asserted that it duly and timeously performed its duties and obligations to the defendant and provided the loan facility as per the terms of the agreement.
