MANGWE INVESTMENTS IS LUBOMBO REGION’S FINEST ENTREPRENEUR

MBABANE – Mangwe Investments led by Mavis Zwane, is Lubombo Region’s finest entrepreneur.

The Siphofaneni based restaurant became the first to be confirmed on the list to compete for the coveted Entrepreneur of the Year Award (EYA) during the inaugural regional entrepreneur awards ceremony convened at the Siteki Hotel on Monday.

Zwane said her business won the award because of improvements in the set-up and good customer service.
She said being crowned the best in the Lubombo region had inspired her to work even harder to improve revenue generated by the businesses from between E300 000 and E0.5 million to greater heights.

Asked whether she was ready for the national award, Zwane could only say: “I will work harder to impress the judges that I have what it takes to be crowned overall winner of the EYA competition.” 

Minister of Commerce, Industry and Trade Jabulani Mabuza pronounced that the awards were bigger and better.
He disclosed introduction of the regional awards had resulted in a 45 per cent increase in the number of entrants.
Mabuza said the increase validates their proposition that taking the EYA beyond the urban corridor of Manzini-Mbabane was necessary to advance the agenda of entrepreneurship development.

The minister appreciated all Small, Micro and Medium (SMME’s) that joined the competition. 
He pointed out that it was worth noting that even though not all may receive the first prize award, all those that had entered the competition improve their businesses’ operations.
