PIGG’S PEAK – Filling stations are warned of a syndicate that is using stolen petrol cards to refill their vehicles.

Already, filling stations in the Manzini and Hhohho corridor have been robbed of close to E250 000 through this fraudulent syndicate.

According to police Public Relations Officer Superintendent Vusi Masuku, these petrol cards were stolen from companies in South Africa.

"Petrol attendants must be on the look out these days, as some people are robbing filling stations large quantities of fuel using fake petrol cards.

After filling up their vehicles, the culprits produce fake petrol cards, thus robbing the stations," explained Masuku.

He urged petrol attendants to report any suspicions pertaining to petrol cards.

He declined to name the filling stations that had been victims of such but said one was robbed of fuel amounting to E150 000, another E50 000 and the last one E49 000.
