Pastor arrested for theft of computers
MBABANE – A pastor has been arrested for allegedly stealing government’s computers worth over E50 000.
Pastor Gcina Zeblon Dlamini is facing a house breaking charge after being the prime suspect in the theft of four laptops belonging to the Tinkhundla ministry.
Dlamini (37) is said to have been leading the African Evangelical Churches (AEC) which was based at KaNdinda. However it is said that Dlamini decided to start his own church which has allegedly has not been doing well.
Dlamini is said to have been employed as a security of the building which is situated at the Mbabane Industrial Sites.
The pastor is alleged to have gained entry into offices belonging to the ministry through a window.
It is said that after it was discovered that four laptops had gone missing, the ministry’s seniors decided to involve the police who launched an investigation into the matter.
While investigations continued, it transpired that the pastor was the main suspect and was eventually taken by the police for questioning.
The pastor was later arrested and charged with house breaking with the intention to steal. He appeared yesterday morning at the Mbabane Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Henry Khumalo.
Dlamini was granted bail amounting to E10 000.
He further made an application that he be allowed to pay E1 000 while the E9 000 be paid through surety.
His application was not objected as Mandla Dlamini was allowed to stand as surety. The pastor eventually paid the bail.
