No airshow this year
MBABANE- There will be no Air show this year due to the National Aviation Conference taking place in Cape Town.
The event is known to attract a lot of people every year, especially young ones. "We always host the show on the third week of September, unfortunately this year, the date clashes with the conference and as a result, most of our personnel will be involved in the aviation industry thus it would be impossible to host and book all the stunt pilots and others to participate", explained organising committee member Lyndon Hermansson. He also added that the organising committee always took at least a year prior to prepare for a successful Air show as it requires a lot of work to be a major success and therefore, the committee has already started working on the one that will take place next year whose date has been set ( 24th of September 2011).
He promised that it would be bigger and better and they had already started making bookings and negotiations with various stakeholders. The air show has always been a superb annual event and it comprises of Helicopter rides and small plane stunts on air to mention a few.
It is held at the Matsapha International Airport. Last year, the event was a great success, which saw close to 4 000 people attending.
