Sihlangu players give Bafana no chance

The players; Lwazi ‘Zidane’ Maziya, Thokozani Mkhulisi and Mlungisi ‘Madzala’ Ngubane all painted a gloomy picture of the 2010 host nation that lost 0-3 against Uruguay tomorrow night.

The bow-legged Mbabane Swallows creative midfielder ‘Zidane’ said the task at hand is enormous for the Carlos Parreira side despite the internal problems in the French team that has just sacked forward Nicolas Anelka.

"Bafana Bafana is a great team and they are playing well, but beating France will not be an easy task. They must play for pride as per their statements. Another problem is that most of the African teams are failing to score goals due to lack of creativity in the last half of the game," he said.

He added that African teams are playing well except that they need to address the absence of goal scoring opportunities in their game. He said most of the African teams that include the likes of Cameroon who have already been booted out, Ghana, Algeria, Ivory Coast and Nigeria have a problem in the last half of the game.

Mbabane Highlanders defender Mlungisi ‘Madzala’ Ngubane said Bafana Bafana need a miracle to beat France with the margin that would make them reach the knockout stage. He said France would do all their best to win the game as they had lost one game against Mexico and draw 0-0 against Uruguay.

"Both teams are frustrated after failing to win their first two games. France are favourite to win as they have all the experience. South Africa is playing good football but they will be more under pressure and it is likely that they will fail to handle it," he said.

Swallows goalkeeper Thokozani Mkhulisi said Bafana Bafana could win the match as France has problems in their camp. He said they had all what it takes and the players need to focus on the game instead of relying on France’s mistakes.

"South Africa is a good side and they can beat France, especially after their internal problems. But to predict the score it would be hard as both teams have failed to convert in their first two games," he said. South Africa will attempt to gate crash the Last 16 of the tournament after their hopes were hugely dented by the embarrassing 0-3 defeat to Uruguay at Loftus Versfeld.
