SIHLANGU MUST BE VERY WORRIED

LOBAMBA – Sihlangu should be worried – very worried.

There is little to suggest that the Zimbabwean Under-23 squad is youthful save for the boyish faces on most of the visitors’ players.
The ‘Young Warriors’, as they are affectionately known, play the local squad tonight at Somhlolo National Stadium in an international preparatory clash, which is scheduled to kick off at 7pm.

Yesterday, the visitors had their first training session since their arrival in the country on Monday afternoon.
Coach Saul Chaminuka, took the 18-member squad through their paces for about two hours in an intense workout.

The Zimbabweans, who have only brought locally-based players for the clash, displayed fantastic tactical know-how and a high work rate throughout the session. The players led by captain, Ronald Pfumbidzai, seemed determined to impress their technical bench, as they sweated it out in the sweltering Lobamba heat.

The Young Warriors were highly mobile and speedy.
No doubt, they will want to use speed to catch Sihlangu napping when they clash this evening.

Obviously still young and inexperienced, a majority of them play in the tough Zimbabwean top flight and are used to pressure.
They will not be overawed by the occasion when they tackle Sihlangu tonight.
