E40 TO WATCH CASTLE PREMIER CHALLENGE CUP SEMI-FINALS
MBABANE – It’s E40 to watch the Castle Premier Challenge first leg semi-finals to be played on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.
The crunch match between police side Royal Leopard and defending champions Mbabane Swallows will kick-off at 3:30pm. The first match will be between security forces sides Young Buffaloes and Green Mamba, starting at 1:30pm.
The Management Committee (MC) Chairman, Meshack Maseko, announced yesterday.
“We are inviting fans to come in numbers for the games. There will be a lot of entertainment ahead of the games. Fans will win Castle merchandise among other things,” Maseko said.
Royal Leopard beat RSSC United 5-2 in the quarter-finals while Mbabane Swallows walloped Malanti Chiefs 6-0. Green Mamba secured their place in the semi-finals after beating Manzini Wanderers 5-3 after penalties and Young Buffaloes beat Manzini Sundowns 3-0.
Maseko said these were the first leg games of the semi-finals and they will confirm the second leg fixtures on a later date. The away goal advantage will apply in the semi-finals.
In the first edition of the tournament, the final was played in an away and home games format and this time it is the semi-finals. The final of the tournament is slated for October 11 at Somhlolo National Stadium. The winner of the tournament will pocket E600 000, winner takes all.
