POOL PLAYER XOLANI STABBED TO DEATH
MBABANE – The Manzini Regional Pool Association (MRPA) is mourning the sudden demise of Mankayane Pool Club player Xolani Mndawe.
The 26-year-old died after he was stabbed to death in Nhlangano after a fight over a woman on Friday evening.
Shocked
MRPA Chairman Muntu Dlamini said they were shocked by the sudden death of the player.
The death of Mndawe has forced the MRPA to postpone the Who’s Who Pool Tournament sponsored by Macembe.
The chairman said the new date of the tournament was yet to be confirmed.
The tournament was scheduled for the weekend at Macembe, Malkerns.
“The player will be laid to rest on Sunday and we have decided to postpone the tournament to a date yet to be announced.
“We are at a loss for words at what has happened. Mndawe was national team material and he was talented in the sport,” he said.
Talented
Dlamini said the Mankayane Pool Club had lost a young and talented player.
“He was young and talented and we are still shocked at what happened.
We urge teams to contribute to his family and as MRPA and the Billiard Association of Swaziland (BAS) we send out condolences,” he said.
