MBABANE – As the MTN Premier League season begins this weekend, Royal Leopard quadruple winning coach last season Sifiso ‘Nuro’ Ntibane has all eyes on him this season, NFAS Technical Director Boy ‘Bizzah’ Mkhonta said.

Giving his opinion on the new league season especially with the forces teams signing the cream of players, in particular Royal Leopard, Mkhonta believes the police side’s coach has all the pressure on him.

“Having won a quadruple last season and also coming in strongly even this season, the pressure is on Nuro. He is the coach who turned his team to pacesetters with his achievements last season and now everyone will want to beat him,” Mkhonta said.
He said if a coach is that successful in just one season, and then the next has certainly got to be tough for him because all the other coaches will want to show their mettle against him which means they will be the team to beat.

“He has also had some very good signings added into the team for the new season but even then, he’ll have difficulty dealing with success management as it comes with all the pressure,” he said.

However, Mkhonta said ‘Nuro’s  team was very strong and looking at their track record last season, they defended well and still won games and now they could even be sharper offensively. Asked to predict what kind of league season this will be, Mkhonta said it has got to be exciting as ever but in the end, he sees the big three teams Mbabane Highlanders, Mbabane Swallows and Manzini Wanderers in the top six.

“I can’t say who will win the league but ‘big’ six teams will certainly make the top six but you can’t rule out surprises from the other teams,” he said.
‘Nuro’ kicks off his season against Charity Cup champions Mbabane Swallows who beat Leopard in a penalty shootout over a week ago at Somhlolo National Stadium.
