MBABANE – Royal Leopard have congratulated the 2014 Swazi Telecom Charity Cup champions, Mbabane Swallows.

The police side PRO Frank Hurube said Swallows were the better team on the day.

He said there was no love lost between the two sides. He said as a team they had put the defeat behind them and they were now focusing on the future. Swallows beat the 2013 champions 5-4 on penalties.

“We played well and we were happy to reach the final. Swallows proved to be better than us and we are going back to the drawing board and we hope they will not have a chance in the MTN grand opening even though nothing formal has come to us,” he said. Hurube thanked their fans for voting for the team and coming in numbers to watch the team play.

“Our fans were with us when we beat Manzini Wanderers in the semi-final play-offs and on Sunday they were all out to support the team. We are proud of them as they also voted for the club to be part of the special tournament,” he said.

Leopard won four trophies last season, namely the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup, MTN Premier League, SwaziBank Cup and Swazi Telecom and PLS Trade Fair Cup.
On top of a squad already bursting at the seams with a galaxy of stars, the police have added, to their arsenal, the likes of Mxolisi Lukhele, Mthunzi Mkhontfo, Machawe Dlamini and Sikhumbuzo Ntimane.
