MBABANE – Malanti Chiefs have vowed to appeal the decision on Sihle Ndaba by the Players Status Committee.

This, therefore, means that the matter, if the gold and black ensemble finally files its notice to appeal, will be decided by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA). Malanti Chiefs Director Dumisani Gumede said they would await the written verdict before appealing the decision.

“We feel that there are certain things that were overlooked, and while I was not at the hearing and have not seen the verdict, I can state that the club will definitely appeal,” Gumede said without elaborating.
FA CEO Frederick Mngomezulu said his office had also not received the written verdict and any notice to appeal by the Pigg’s Peak-based ensemble.

“It is within the team to exercise its right to appeal and the next body to review the matter will be FIFA. Normally, a club notifies us of its intentions to appeal, and then we will notify FIFA. “It is the latter that then advises us on what is needed regarding the fees which are normally in Dollars. Parties involved do not go for a hearing, but the FIFA Players Status Committee just review the documents obtained from the initial hearing, and issue a verdict,” Mngomezulu said.

The player had taken Malanti Chiefs to the Players Status Committee contesting his contract with the club. He was seeking an order declaring him a free agent so that he could join Manzini Wanderers. In his papers, the player said he had no running contract with the gold and black side last season. The committee, which sat over the matter on Monday at Sigwaca House, ruled in his favour as his contract was said to have expired in June last year.

Ndaba is expected to officially make his debut on Sunday against Royal Leopard in the second game of the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup semi finals play-offs. The match will kick off at 4.30pm after another epic clash between Mbabane Swallows against 2012 champions Manzini Sundowns at 2pm.
