CHAMPS INVEST E45 000 ON GROUNDS

EZULWINI – MTN Scara Thindwa Foundation Under-15 schools soccer tournament champions, Ntondozi will invest a lion’s share of their first prize in constructing grounds.


The Manzini-based school walked away with E45 000 for winning the juniors tournament after a prize giving ceremony at MTN Head Office in Ezulwini yesterday.
The prize money for the all top three schools will be channelled towards sport development.

Head teacher, Alpheous Mntambo, said the school was planning to construct a soccer field as well as netball and volleyball courts.
“We’re also looking to have a lighting system in one of the finished blocks at the school,” Mntambo said.
He felt the tournament was good for unearthing talent for the national team, Sihlangu, thanking MTN Swaziland for coming on board.
In second and third positions were Hlutse and Nkwene who got E30 000 and E20 000, respectively.


 Foundation founder, Absalom ‘Scara’ Thindwa, applauded all stakeholders for supporting the project, highlighting that the youngsters gave their all in the field of play.


Also present was National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) Chief Executive Officer Frederick Mngomezulu who stressed that the youngsters should be monitored regularly and set high football standards.
Swaziland School Sports Association (SSSA) was also a major partner in the tournament sponsored to a tune of E300 000.
