The appointment of Ally ‘The Great’ Kgomongwe as Highlanders’ Co-director should come as a relief to many who have been following the past events, wherein, the management was blamed as delaying the processes and avoiding the signature of the businessman from South Africa coming in as co-director with Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane. Cishe asibulala emaSwati akhohlwa kunye kutsi Highlanders is a big team and where decisions of this magnitude are to be taken, all structures must be consulted and processes followed to the letter.

However, I laughed out loud, when one guy from the ‘Bull’s kraal began to claim that Ally ‘The Great’ Kgomongwe came to the country through him, confusing everyone and everything in the process. The truth is that Ally came to Highlanders through an invitation by the team’s boss Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane. I remember some time back, when the marketing manager led a delegation that was sent by the team’s boss to make a presentation to his friend and business partner, Ally. The warm welcome we received from Ally was awesome, a person of influence and respectable businessman in South Africa.

He accommodated us in a prestigious hotel and made us occupy the presidential suite for the rest of our stay in that country. Whatever people can say but the truth is Simelane has a good business partner and friend in Ally ‘The Great’. A person who showed his undivided love for Highlanders in spite of attempts by other people who hate progress in football clubs to divert his focus, he remained stable with his desire to become the ‘Bull’s co-director. It has pleased the team’s boss to award the players for a job well-done in bringing the team back to the Premier League. Besekuhlekiswa ngatsi nje langephandle, but thanks to the boys and all those who participated in ensuring that the team regains its elite league status. The dinner is scheduled for Saturday at the Swaziland Theatre Club, starting at 6pm. The team’s boss will be giving out tokens of appreciation to players and also those who helped him achieve this goal.

However, to clarify one or two things boMagebhula, there is a Highlanders dinner that is underway; we expect the Highlanders family to attend. This one is prepared by the Highlanders marketing team together with former Minister Lutfo Dlamini, kutobayingcayizivela yelidzili boMagebhula.

Feast at Lutfo’s
homestead

It was a fun-filled day at Lutfo’s home the other Sunday as the team’s officials, players and supporters visited his place for a feast. In attendance was the team’s co-director Bheki ‘Rubber’ Simelane who passed his appreciation to the former minister for the kind gesture. We couldn’t believe our ears when the former minister informed management that this event was just starters, otherwise the bigger event is yet to come and it will be held immediately after the first round of the Premier League. He then encouraged the players to put more effort in uplifting the standard of football in the country.

Best Player of the Month

Cameroonian defender, our Karen Bantar, won the Best Player of the Month Award courtesy of KM Barber and Salon at Checkers business corner. The towering defender was presented with a cash prize of E500 and a trophy. Again, we would like to pass our sincerest thanks to the Management of KM Barbershop and Salon for keeping their promise until the end of the season. These incentives played a major role in motivating our boys during our games in the National First Division. We are indeed proud of KM Barbershop and Salon and we continue to urge our supporters to utilise their services and hopefully the management will consider renewing the partnership as we prepare for the elite league. Siyabonga kakhulu kubaka KM.

Noah Nkambule,
our  Manager

It is very much interesting to work for Mbabane Highlanders, especially these days where everyone has an opinion on how the team should be run forgetting that ‘Rubber’ was given five years by our patrons as sole director to run the team. However, because it’s a big team, there are many vessels in place in case one breaks or retires from executing the team’s duties, someone comes through without any problems to serve. We are grateful to the team’s boss for appointing Noah to lead the team until such a time when the next management is in place. Nkambule is a well-known loyal servant of the ‘Bull’ and has never, at any given point and time, resigned from executing duties and responsibilities given to him by the elders of the team. We welcome the old ox, a person who loves the team with passion and knows the culture of the team. Siyabonga Msutfu kutsatsa lomsebent iwesive ngetandla totimbili.

Thanks to
Moi Moi Masilela

It is very much encouraging to see the elders of the city giants taking their rightful positions in assisting the team. We have noted with much appreciation the unity and cooperation within the structures of the ‘Bull’. In the past few weeks we received a donation in a form of a beast from former Minister Lutfo Dlamini  and now another donation of a beast from our beloved Moi Moi Masilela, kumnandzi ekhabo Nkunzemnyama. We would like to pass our sincere thanks to Mr Masilela for this kind gesture; this is an indication that you always have space for the team in your heart. Masilela is a staunch supporter of the ‘Bull’ kusukela lemuva kusatsiwa SCOT yi-Trade College. Ngeke umtjele lutfo ngeNkunzemnyama angafa nyalo. Be that as it may, we believe that this donation will go a long way in strengthening the relationship between the Masilela family and the ‘Bull’. We are proud of Masilela because he is always there for the team. Siyabonga Vungandze.

Itak’seta Wayawaya! Time has come boMagebhula where our loyalty and support for the team will be tested. This tournament is like an instrument meant to gauge the support and confirm the numbers the teams claim to have. BoMagebhula, let us all unite and VOTE for our respectable team batokhona bafana kusiletsela injabulo. Time passed where votes will be expected to come from the elders or management. May all Highlanders supporters and friends rise up and show their support by action, not by word of mouth that indeed we are a big team with a great following by dialing 8711 everyday. By doing so, our team will make it through. May God bless us all boMagebhula and enjoy the rest of the week...Till next week Gwaza Nkunzemnyama!
