MBABANE – The luxury coach that has been given to the National Football Association of Swaziland (NFAS) by its South African counterparts has been damaged barely five days after its arrival.

The bus, which was used by the national team Sihlangu to travel to and from Somhlolo National Stadium for a game against Sierra Leone on Sunday has extensive damage on the right lower area in its front part.
The damage to the bus that arrived in Swaziland on Friday had to be strapped with some white duct-tape to keep it together.

Apparently, the bus, with a fridge and toilet inside, was said to have been damaged a few minutes after its arrival at the Ngwenya Border Gate. “This was caused by an accident upon its arrival. A truck just hit it at the border gate,” one impeccable source divulged. However, the extent of the damage could not be ascertained for now and NFAS CEO Frederick Mngomezulu declined to discuss the matter.

“This bus is our asset, hence all issues with regard to it are deemed internal and treated as such. Therefore, I do not want to talk about its damage and the costs related to such,” he said. This bus is part of the fleet that were given to SAFA by FIFA for use during the 2010 FIFA World Cup and they were to be given to countries including Swaziland afterwards.
