‘BIRDS’ NOT OUR ENEMIES

Greetings to all members of the beloved Manzini Wanderers family, greetings to you ‘expensive, beautiful and lovely’ individuals. As famed American singer Celine Dion said in her moving ballad ‘You mean the world to me’ you are also special to the club for your unwavering support.

Your passion about Manzini Wanderers is second to none. You have showed it even this past weekend when our future stars were playing in the SwaziBank Cup Under-20 semi-final against Malanti Chiefs. I was impressed with your support even when it was clear that we were losing the game. You were gracious in defeat as you rallied behind the boys.
What is left now is for us to add a financial muscle in the running of our team.

We appreciate those of you who have been there for the club financially, assisting and the Patron, MD and the MC appreciates so much but some of you babhacile maWeseli. I repeat this statement; this is the time when the team needs you the most. The administration of the team has tried so much to do everything for the team to survive, but let me ask this simple question maWeseli, wena as an important stakeholder in this big team wenteni to help Manzini Wanderers management raise the E150 000 needed to run this team monthly. I will always raise this issue until you come forward and put in a helping hand.

MTN league is back

The much anticipated match of the season, the ‘CLASSICAL’ battle is on this coming Saturday come rain or sunshine. I’m branding it the ‘classical’ battle because there are so many classical issues between the supporters of these two great clubs in the kingdom. Manzini Wanderers wears the most classical brand i.e. the Wanderville; we also play the most classical football, libhola lekudula, in the kingdom.

We boast of the most classical supporters, balandzeli bekudula, in the kingdom. We as Manzini Wanderers we boast of the biggest classical number of supporters. Our rivals Mbabane Swallows also have their own classical attributes. Come Saturday March 29, 2014, I’m sure maWeseli, in your classical Wanderville you will be there in numbers to prove who is ruling in those aspects classically. You are expected to respect the entire match whatever the results, although I’m sure we are going to win this one. During our celebration, I am expecting a classical celebration from you maWeseli. I promise you maWeseli we will celebrate this Saturday, no matter what.

Remember this Manzini Wanderers family; Mbabane Swallows FC is not our enemy but only rivals in the field of play. I know that we had problems before but let us forget about the past and focus on the future. Mbabane Swallows CEO and I sat around the table and ironed out our differences. Mr. Manana has assured me that Mbabane Swallows FC including their supporters are not our enemies but we are just rivals only in the field of play.

He proved to me that he has valuable experience in the field of PROs. He took it upon himself to call me and try to share our expectations as PROs of the two biggest clubs in the kingdom. We spent sometime over the phone trying to map a way forward on how best we can focus on marketing our teams rather than creating enmity amongst the supporters. I am using this article maWeseli to say ‘PEACE’ maWeseli. Let us bury the hatchet and only promote the spirit of fair play.

I know some of you will not have it easy to believe this and accept it but I beg you MaWeseli lamahle, just remember phela nine nibafana bemkhuleko bafana bemthantazi, meaning you only pray for any challenging situation, you do not fight. I am expecting a classical behaviour on Saturday. No mocking, no booing, no insults and no fighting. I am expecting to see a Wanderers supporter among the Swallows supporters walking freely without being beaten the same applies with a Swallows supporter among Wanderers supporters. Hope kutababete emahlongandlebe. Anyone who will go against these advices is not a Wanderers at heart.

Team news

The squad is geared up for the game. We have an injury free squad raring to go and do the job for the multitudes of supporters who will be there and those who will be listening at home over the radio. I am sure it will also be televised and our patron will be glued to the screen the entire 90 minutes watching the team she loves the most win this classical encounter.

It doesn’t come bigger than this; our former director as far as the United States of America has promised new soccer boots for one of our players. The boots are already on the ship enroute to Swaziland-Manzini Wanderers FC. Siyabonga Timandze for being a Waza lelidulile at heart. One of our players will be using emakhokho ekudula on Saturday, hope you will score boy.
 ‘God Bless Manzini Wanderers Family’

As a Mbabane Swallows fan, it is a good gesture. The enemity has gone for too long, which is not good for our football. Rivalry is good but what is happening now is way beyond that. Thank you Mr Manana and Mr Ginindza for taking the first step towards PEACE.
