MBABANE – The Taekwondo junior’s squad duo of Carlota Munave and Phiwayinkhosi Dlamini has crashed out of the 10th WTF World Junior Taekwondo Championships and the WTF Qualification Tournament in Taipei.

The two artists lost in the second round.
They won their first matches in the tournament while Diana Stomvig and Thandolwethu Motsa lost in the first round of the championships. The four-member squad is led by Bongani Nxumalo who is the coach while Sandile Mchunu is the manager.

Swaziland Taekwondo Association (STAss) Assistant Secretary Sanele Dlamini confirmed the results yesterday. She said this was a great achievement for the country especially after the two were able to go through the second round.

“We are happy with their performance even though we are still to wait for the full report from the manager upon their return. It was their first time to play in an international tournament of such magnitude,” she said.
The squad is expected back home on Friday as they will leave Taipei tomorrow after the completion of the games.
