YOUNG ‘BIRDS’ LOSING STREAK CONTINUES

LOBAMBA – It is a sad story for the Mbabane Swallows Under-20 side as they are a complete opposite of their senior team in the PLS Under-20 League.

The Swallows juniors are just uninspiring and yesterday’s 2-0 loss to an organised Green Mamba was evidence of this. They are simply failing to emulate their senior team which is scoring goals like nobody’s business in the MTN Premier League.

Against Green Mamba, they were at least an improved side but still failed to break the former’s defence despite having a good battle in the middle of the park. Green Mamba, under the tutelage of Sifiso ‘Haiso’ Dlamini, were tactically superior.
It was a deserved win in the end that took them to seventh, a place above Moneni Pirates on the log table. Handing them the much needed win was striker Mthobisi Mazibuko who scored a brace.
He opened the scoring midway through the first half when he converted from the spot kick before ‘Haiso’s’ son, Linda Dlamini who was brilliant with his passes from the belly of the park, set him up with a through ball to beat the advancing goalkeeper Ntsikelelo Masuku to complete his brace.

Meanwhile, Swallows remain at the base of the table with only three points and five losses in six matches. Manzini Sundowns are leading the pack on 14 points while Royal Leopard are second on 13 points.
