LOBAMBA – Former Mamelodi Sundowns’ gifted attacking midfielder Gift Kampamba is among the officials in Nkana’s advance party.
The team of seven officials touched down at Matsapha airport yesterday afternoon and is booked at the Happy Valley Resort.

Zambia’s 12 times Champions are here for the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League first leg clash against local heavyweights Mbabane Swallows on Sunday. The game will be played at Somhlolo National Stadium and will kick-off at 3pm.

Kampamba, who thrilled the eye and soothed the soul with his flair in his heyday as the South Africa side’s attacking midfielder, played alongside other Sundowns greats like the Cameroonian midfield wizard Roger Fuetimba, Alex Baphela, Matthew Booth and others. He is now a technical member at Nkana. Speaking shortly upon arrival, Nkana’s club secretary Kenny Mwansa said they were here for business.

“We are basically here to win the game. We will not underestimate Swallows but we will give it our best shot. The Zambian community living in Swaziland should come in numbers for the game because we will not disappoint them.
“The Nkana they knew 12 years ago is back. Yes, we are back with a bang and we are looking forward to the clash against Swallows on Sunday,” he said.

The delegation was met by Swallows officials at the airport including General Manager Sandile Zwane and the team’s acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Sibusiso Manana.
The rest of the players including the coaches are expected to arrive in the country this afternoon. The visitors are also expected to have their first training session at Somhlolo this afternoon.
