MBABANE – In memory of the late SwaziBank Managing Director and founder of the SwaziBank, Stanley Matsebula, the bank has set aside a E50 000 special award in this year’s competition onwards.

The bank’s Acting MD Babhekile Matsebula said the Stanley Matsebula Award of Excellence will be rewarded to a team that will demonstrate visionary and strategic attributes on and off the field. The team should also be one that digs deeper to achieve results, have high presence and visibility. The club should also exhibit outstanding performance.
“The criterion to be used in the selection process is already in place,” she said.

Matsebula, who came up with the idea of the SwaziBank Cup, died in January last year, leaving the entire football fraternity in great shock and pain. He has always been the face of the tournament, given his hands-on approach in marketing the competition that grew to become a national event.
