MBABANE – Teams competing in the Swazi Telecom Trade Fair cup have been boosted by an E8 000 cash injection ahead of the tournament.

Each team gets the said amount as a participation fee for the soccer event which kicks off tonight. The share for the 12 Premier League sides is also indicated in the Rules and Regulations of the tournament presented to teams during a launch at the Swaziland Posts and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) boardroom in Mbabane yesterday. It has already been deposited into the soccer sides’ accounts.

This means the total amount of money given to the 12 teams is E96 000. The money will shoot up to E116 000 when the finalists get a further E10 000 apiece.

However, as it is the case in the tournament, the teams will forfeit the gate takings to the Premier League of Swaziland (PLS).
The eagerly awaited soccer showpiece kicks off at Mavuso Sports Centre tonight. Manzini Sundowns hosts RSSC in the opening game at 7pm while Young Buffaloes have a date with Sea Birds two hours later.

PLS Chairman Victor Gamedze announced that the final and the losers final would be played on September 29.
