MBABANE – Royal Leopard have rele-ased former Sihlangu centre back Zakhele Manyatsi to his fo-rmer club Manzini Su-ndowns in exchange for Sizwe Khumalo.

The son of another former great player David ‘Bo-tsotso’ Manyatsi, cut his teeth as a striker for the Kappa Boys in the early part of the new millennium before joining the then all-conquering police side coached by Musa Magic Zwane. He started training with the Milton Dlamini coached side on Tuesday while Khumalo was cleared to the police side a fortnight ago.

Khumalo featured for Leopard during the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup games against Green Mamba and final against Young Buffaloes at Somhlolo National Stadium.  Leopard PRO Frank Hurube said despite that Manyatsi had started training with Sundowns, talks between the two clubs were ongoing.

“There are a few logistics that both teams are still to polish up before he is officially cleared otherwise he is still our player,” he said.
Sundowns PRO Muzi Matsenjwa only confirmed the player’s presence in their training sessions. He said there were a number of players training with them who the technical bench headed by Dlamini has to make its recommendation on them. Last season both teams swapped defenders, Jerome Ntjalintjali to Leopard and Phumlani Dlamini to Sundowns.

Sundowns are also on the verge of signing former Manzini Wanderers South African born left back Thulani Notywane who started training with the team on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Sundowns are due to play Thanda Royal Zulu on Sunday in Richards bay as part of their preseason.
“Our main objective as a team in this game is not about the results but to test the character of our players. We hope that by the time the domestic games resume, we will be in a good condition to compete,” Matsenjwa said.
