MBABANE – A big party to celebrate Swazi Telecom Charity Cup champions, Royal Leopard’s success is on the cards.

A gallant Leopard side beat fellow security forces ensemble Young Buffaloes by 4-1 on penalties to win the tournament in front of His Majesty King Mswati III at Somhlolo National Stadium on Sunday. Club boss in National Commissioner of Police Isaac Magagula revealed that plans to spoil his victorious stars were  in place when asked if the players would get a share of the E650 000 first prize.

“It is no secret we’ve to do something for the team. We’ll have a get-together to motivate the players ahead of the new season. We’ll announce the logistics in due course once everything is in place,” Magagula said.

The police boss, whose joy could be sensed from the interview, said he was very proud of the blue and white outfit, saying the triumph was a morale boost to shine in upcoming tournaments.

“Having reached the finals, we were going to accept defeat with a heavy heart,” he said. Leopard are favourites to sweep the boards during the prize giving event set to be staged at Royal Villas on Thursday. They were crowned champions in 2006 and won the prestigious tournament for the second time on Sunday.
