We want to take thisopportunity to wish

Green Mamba, Mba-bane Swallows, Royal Leopard and Young Buffaloes the best of luck in their attempt to be the 2013 SPTC Charity Cup Itak’seta Mo! tournament champions tomorrow. At stake for the four clubs are two things – the E650 000 first prize and pride, which to us is the highest prize.

The bragging rights as winners of the tournament remain with you for 12 months. May the better prepared team win the tournament. It sure promises to be an exciting day for the football loving nation of Swaziland.

What with the entertainment galore that will be lined up at the event? Where else does one get to watch three football matches of the highest quality and watch powerhouse music acts for only E50? The line-up of Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, Lundi, DJ Cleo and others can fill Somhlolo National Stadium to the raptures on its own. Surely, the stadium will be full from the first match at 9am until the final whistle at around 6pm.
You do not want to miss out, hence our encouragement for you to be at the stadium as early as 6am to secure yourself a place to sit.

For our part, supporters of the club, players and management will be at the venue in support of the event. Ours will not necessarily be to vouch for one team or the other (even though people will have their preferences), but it will be to support charity, which will be the biggest winner.
Up the Bucs!!

SPTC a champion of the poor in Swaziland

SPTC has been the sponsor of football in Swaziland for the past 12 years. We commend the corporation for its decision to channel their sponsorship towards a sport that is loved by hundreds of thousands of football lovers.

The decision to sponsor football has not only benefitted football lovers in Swaziland; but it has benefitted the poorest of the poor in the different communities in Swaziland. Moneni Pirates have been touched in a number of ways by the experience of interacting with the communities through the community projects.

Through SPTC’s efforts, we have embraced the spirit of giving, such that on an annual basis now, we have made it a point that we encourage our supporters to give to the poor through the community projects.

In the 2009 edition, we shared all the weekly trolley dash prizes that we received with different poor families as a gesture of returning our gains to the poor; in 2010, we donated E5 000 worth of clothing to the xxx community; in 2011 we donated E5 000 clothing and E2 000 worth of groceries to the community of Etjebovu; in 2012, we donated E5 000 worth of clothing to the community of Ndunayithini; and in 2013 we facilitated a donation of clothing, blankets, vegetables and other groceries worth in excess of E6 000 to the Selulasandla Vashti AME Village.

 Corporate servicecommunity projects

Through the community proje-cts, clubs have developed a sense of corporate service. It has become a culture in most of the clubs that participate in this tournament.

This tournament is no longer just about qualification and winning now. The spirit of giving back has been inculcated into the daily lives of the clubs.
SPTC has been at the forefront of that culture’s shift and change. We say BRAVO SPTC for taking the bull by its horns and sticking with football even in the most trying times. We do look forward to the 2014 edition of the tournament as well.

Moneni Pirates preparatory games

Last week, the club was involved in a game against Manzini Sea Birds at the Old Trade Fair Ground.
It was a wonderful opportunity for the technical team to have a look at the players at their disposal and up the preparations for the league kick-off in the coming few weeks. We thank the Manzini Sea Birds management for ensuring that we get prepared by playing against them.
From 11am this morning, the club will be at Tambuti to play against Tambuti FC in two games that will ensure that the team’s preparations are intensified. The entire club’s registered players as well as others that the club is still assessing for registration will be available for the games. We encourage supporters to accompany the club to Tambuti.

Rest in peace

The jaws of death have once again struck at the Moneni Pirates family. Zakithi Motsa, otherwise known as ‘Lara’ and famous for his “Yeeeeeelaaaaaa” chants was laid to rest this morning at Moneni. We pray that God may be with his family at this time of the sad loss. We have lost a passionate supporter who was never afraid or ashamed to support his team. May his soul rest in peace!!
Up the Bucs!!
