Swallows step up the gear

MBABANE – In preparation of the Swazi Telecom  Charity Cup games next Sunday, Mbabane Swallows played two friendly games against Manzini Sundowns and RSSC United.


The red and white outfit won 1-0 against Sundowns through a goal scored by Sanele Mkhweli while in their second game they won 2-0 against RSSC United.


Both goals were netted by Felix Badenhorst. Swallows acting Chief Executive Officer Manana said these were part of their preparations for the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup slated for next Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium.


Manana said they had to play two games in one day to be ready for next week’s games.
He said during the Swazi Telecom Charity Cup, they were going to play two games in one day.
Swallows play Young Buffaloes in the first semi-finals while Royal Leopard will play Green Mamba in the second semi-finals. The winners will play the final.


“Thanks to Sundowns and RSSC for giving us such good practise ahead of the Charity Cup. We are happy with the results and we are confident that we are going to win the trophy,” he said.
The games were played at Nsuku-wansuku Stadium.


Sundowns Public Relations Officer Muzi Matsenjwa said they were happy to have played against Swallows.
“Despite that we lost the match against Swallows, but we got a good practise. It is unfortunate that we are not part of the Charity Cup though,” he said.
