MBABANE – Ex-PLS CEO  Zwelonke ‘Sport’ Dlamini and the PLS have finally parted ways after the latter revoked its new job offer.

This was confirmed by both parties, albeit in hushed tones. In as far as the PLS is concerned the relationship between the two parties is over. ‘Sport’ who has been CEO for two years since the 2011/2012 season had been offered a new job as Development Officer.

However, he rejected the offer as it came with a slashed salary from E10 000 to a paltry E3 000 and it is also a junior position that would have seen him report to the office administrator Ncamsile Mkhonta.
“I was expected to report for work under the new position on Thursday but couldn’t as I received a letter telling me otherwise on Wednesday which my wife picked from the PLS office on my behalf,” said Sport.

He said the letter’s content was to the effect that his job offer was no longer available as it was revoked.
“The PLS CEO signed the letter which I have in my possession and she also has a copy of it I’m certain so I couldn’t report for duty,” he explained. Asked on claims that he also wrote a letter to the PLS CEO rejecting the offer which reduced him to a junior officer, he said while he did write a letter on the new offer, it was purely not to say he was rejecting the offer but was unsatisfied with its provisions.

“As far as I’m concerned the matter is with the PLS Executive now as I told them of the dismissal letter which to me was a rough tackle and a red card if I were to use football language.
“But I made it clear that I’d rather stay at home than accede to the strange offer and then leave it to other people to take it further,” he said. He said while he was not rushing into legal action, it was another possibility but for now he wanted to give the PLS Executive who he said were his employers the time to deliberate on the matter.

Meanwhile, PLS CEO Nqobile Magagula was diplomatic when asked about the issue, opting to play her cards close to her chest.
“All I can say is I have a letter from ‘Sport’ rejecting the PLS offer and was expecting him to report for work but he hasn’t which could mean he has decided not to take the job, otherwise I have no further comment,” she said.

Asked specifically about the letter ‘Sport’ claims to have been written by her terminating the job offer, Magagula asked not to comment saying she was not at liberty to discuss the organisa-tion’s staff issues.
