Nkululeko joins HighLanders

MBABANE- Capital city giants Mbabane Highlanders have made their biggest signing yet following the acquisition of South African born striker Nkululeko Dlamini.
The burly forward penned a one-year contract with Highlanders yesterday, ending speculation over his future after he was giving a free clearance by his South African National First Division side Jomo Cosmos over a month ago.
However, the black and white outfit’s loyalists have to wait for a few days before they can see the former Umbelebele Jomo Cosmos and Manzini Wanderers striker in their favourite team’s colours as he still sorting out his work permit. Well informed insiders pledged that the muscular forward might be registered before the end of next week.
Highlanders Board of Directors secretary Musa Masuku who sounded surprised that this publication quickly learnt of the move confirmed the signing of the player, highlighting that he would add value to the side.
"We signed the striker on a one-year deal. Since he is now ours, we are in no rush to register him.
"We’re trying to build the team and I can swear he is not our last big signing," he said.
Known for his crazy stunts on the sidelines, Dlamini joined Wanderers on a short loan from the relegated South African Premier Soccer League team in the past season.
He established himself as one of the feared strikers, keeping opposition defenders on their toes with his dangerous moves.
Dlamini was reportedly on his way to his home country and would return on Sunday when sought for comment last night.
Highlanders were ‘silent’ on the transfer market as they had only made a few notable signings that include former Moneni Pirates and Green Mamba striker Machawe Mtsetfwa and ex-Manzini Sundowns defender Jean Nguimbuos.
