Copa Coca-Cola, Imphilo Emahewu semis today
MBABANE - The finalists in the Copa Coca-Cola Under-17s and Imphilo Emahewu netball school games will be known today.
Copa Coca-Cola sponsors the junior school soccer sides with over E300 000 while Imphilo Emahewu finances the netball teams with E100 000. According to a fixture released by Swaziland Schools Sports Association (SSSA) Secretary Bongani Makhanya on Sunday, all roads lead to the Trade Fair Ground in what promises to be an action-packed day.
In soccer, Phonjwane High hosts their counterparts from Manzini at 10am while Qomintaba have a tricky outing against favourites Evelyn Baring two hours later.
In a mouth-watering netball semi-final clash, the Hhohho region will be divided into two when unstoppable defending champions Mhlatane High cross swords with the unpredictable Mbuluzi High at 12pm. Nhletjeni’s match against Ngwane Central to be played two hours earlier will complete the list of the semi-final fixtures.
Makhanya said it was all systems go for the games, inviting people to come in numbers to support them. He disclosed that entrance would be free.
"We’re hoping to stage the final at Mavuso Sports Centre on Friday," he said.
The Copa Coca-Cola champions will walk away with E35 000 in prizes while the netball winners will be furnished with E5 000 cash and Imphilo Emahewu merchandise worth the same amount.
