'Major V' eyes braai glory
MBABANE – Popular Prophet Vusumuzi ‘Major V’ Dlamini has once again declared his intention to participate in the highly-anticipated Eswatini Biggest Braai exhibition bout.
The charismatic religious leader, who boasts a significant following across social media platforms, will be hoping for a smoother path to the ring this time around. Followers will recall his dramatic last-minute withdrawal from a scheduled fight against bodybuilder Simanga Maziya in a previous iteration of the event, a decision shrouded in some mystery.
The Biggest Braai, a highlight on the local calendar, is organised by Philani MaSwati Charity Organisation. This year’s festivities are set to take place on July 26, 2025, at the Mavuso Sports Centre. Chairman Lutfo Dlamini confirmed that preparations for the event were progressing well, with ‘Major V’ currently awaiting the announcement of his opponent for the enticing E7 000 winner-takes-all prize.
Adding to the excitement, there will also be a keenly watched ladies’ bout, with the victor also set to claim a E7 000 prize. This women’s competition has received a significant boost from Emlembe Beverages, who have sponsored it to the tune of E10 000. The ladies competition will commence at a regional level, with the semi-finals scheduled for the week preceding the main event. All eyes will now be on who will step up to challenge ‘Major V’ and which formidable female fighters will emerge from the regional heats to compete for the coveted titles at the Biggest Braai.
