DUTCH FANS LIGHT UP MAVUSO
MANZINI – The second round of the MTN Premier League kicked-off with a bang, as an impressive 16 goals were scored across all matches, this past weekend. Following a brief break for the Ingwenyama Cup, the 2024/2025 MTN Premier League season resumed with an exhilarating start. Green Mamba and Royal Leopard continue to lead the table, both on 32 points, with Green Mamba enjoying a superior goal difference. Nsingizini Hotspurs, having amassed 31 points, occupy third spot, while Moneni Pirates and Mbabane Swallows round the top five, with 27 and 25 points, respectively.
Kwakhe Thwala made a memorable debut for ‘Insingizi YeZulu’ this past weekend, netting his first goal for the club in a closely contested 1-0 win over Young Buffaloes. Meanwhile, his former teammate Siyabonga ‘Gusheshe’ Zwane also found the back of the net, scoring his first goal for ‘Inyoka Eluhlazane’ in their team’s resounding 3-0 victory over Sisonkhe. These promising starts for both players bode well for their respective clubs as the season progresses.

The Mavuso Sports Centre in Manzini played host to a thrilling Y’ello Sunday, as the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni extended their winning streak with a convincing 2-0 triumph over Sidwashini United. Meanwhile, reigning league champions Umkhonto KaShaka fought to a 1-1 draw against Manzini Sea Birds in their encounter. Adding to the excitement was a contingent of 19 enthusiastic Pirates supporters from the Netherlands who had flown in to give support, not just to their team but also to the All Out Africa initiative based in Ezulwini.
