MBABANE – Green Mamba Coach Ernest Mavuso has expressed his willingness to consider new offers, should his current employers choose not to renew his contract.

Mavuso revealed this during a post-match interview at King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium on Sunday, following his team’s impressive 4-0 victory over Mbabane Highlanders in a one-sided encounter. The result ensured the dethroned champions finished as runners-up. Reflecting on the season, Mavuso stated: “It has been a long season and we have learned a lot. There were good and bad moments as well as highs and lows. We lost games we should have won, but overall, I think we had a great season and won two trophies. We could have done better.”

He also took the opportunity to express gratitude, thanking the Commissioner General (CG) and Team President Phindile Dlamini, management, technical bench, players and the loyal supporters of Green Mamba. Mavuso highlighted the team’s adaptation to new approaches, stating, “When we arrived here, we introduced new ways of doing things. Initially, the players did not respond well, but with time, the team started gelling and getting results.”

Regarding the performance of Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa, Mavuso commended him, saying: “He was one of the best in the season and led by example as a captain. Having him in the team is a motivating factor, and congratulations to him for winning the ‘golden boot’.” In response to questions about his future at Green Mamba, given that his contract was set to expire in June, Mavuso expressed his desire to continue with the team. However, he also stated, “If they have not renewed my contract, I will consider any offers.” Mavuso’s achievements this season include winning the Ingwenyama Cup and Trade Fair Cup, as well as guiding his team to a first-round top finish. Green Mamba’s earnings for the season have totalled a remarkable E2.3 million.
