‘BULL’ COACH CONGRATULATES ‘BIRDS’ FOR WINNING LEAGUE

LOBAMBA – Mbabane Highlanders Coach Milton Dlamini has extended his congratulations to Mbabane Swallows for clinching the league title.

Swallows stand as the uncrowned champions with one game to spare, following their 1-0 victory over Ezulwini United at Mkhuzweni Stadium, this past Saturday. Even if they were to lose their final match against Young Buffaloes, Swallows would still be declared champions. Dlamini expressed these sentiments during a post-match interview after guiding his team to a resounding 6-1 victory over Manzini Wanderers at Somhlolo National Stadium, three days ago. “If Swallows have consistently performed well throughout the season, then they rightfully deserve the title, and I extend my congratulations to them,” Dlamini remarked in response to a question about his perspective on Swallows’ league victory.

Commenting on the game, the coach noted that the previous week they encountered a challenging situation, whereby their defenders did not perform at their best. This was during the 2-3 derby loss to Mbabane Swallows. “There were rumours that I deliberately fielded the wrong goalkeeper (Ntokozo Shabangu), but I wanted to give him an opportunity to redeem himself, and he certainly did that today. Thami Zulu also delivered an outstanding performance.

“In our pre-match meeting, we emphasised the importance of seizing the opportunity to showcase our abilities and end the season on a positive note,” he said. Even though his team is now in serious danger, Manzini Wanderers Coach Nyanga ‘Crooks’ Hlophe, on the other hand, remains calm in the face of adversity. “The battle is on, and we must continue to strive to improve our position,” he said.

: Squatters on farms
The influx of squatters on farms will always be a challenge unless chiefs are salaried and regulated by government. Do you agree with this sentiment shared by farm owners?
