B. HIGHLANDERS’ COACH RECORDING SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

Just a few days after commemorating World Press Freedom Day, this publication finds itself under unnecessary attack by one of the Premier League sides, Mbabane Highlanders.

The team in a nutshell, is denying comments made publicly that are on record. The sentiments are attributed to their head coach during a pre-match briefing this past Friday, when he was on record saying they would beat Swallows on Sunday (yesterday), even though they wanted the latter to win the league. Instead of following the standard channels for filing complaints on published stories, Highlanders ran to their social media account (Facebook), without verifying the facts, to jump to the defence of their coach, while launching a baseless attack on both the publication and the author of the story.

They never bothered to share their so-called correct version of the comments or at least attach the footage which is in the possession of this publication. Instead of keeping their coach on a tight leash, they opted for the senseless attack on the media. Having followed all ethical guidelines, we stand by our story and we will not be swayed by any form of attack or intimidation in our relentless pursuit of the truth.
