MBABANE – Good news for Sihlangu supporters!

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Frederick Mngomezulu officially launched the new national team Sihlangu replicas. The event was held at Sigwaca House yesterday and was attended by Sihlangu players Skipper Sifiso ‘Ayoba’ Matse and Kwakhe ‘Stopper’ Thwala as well as national women Under-20 captain Nomfundo Bhembe.

Mngomezulu revealed that they had a three-year partnership with Umbro which started in 2021, worth E1.5 million for the squads. The deal saw the national teams, especially Sihlangu, supplied with match day kits, casual wear, balls as well as bags. “We are here to launch the three replicas for the national team which they used in the qualifiers recently. They come in our traditional colours of blue, white and yellow. These new kits evoke the pride in the players,” Mngomezulu said. He said the EFA had been receiving endless calls from the supporters after seeing the national team donning the new kits, enquiring on when the replicas would be available.

He said the kits were the true identity of the country with the shield in the front. “I would like to invite the public to get these new replicas at E450 each as they will be available in stores satrting tomorrow (today). We are working on adding caps, scarfs and track-suits for the supporters going forward,” he said.

The CEO thanked the fans for the support they gave EFA in buying the previous edition of the replicas. He said the replicas would be available at Century Fashions, African Heritage and Matata at Moneni. “Like the previous replicas, the new ones will come in different sizes to accommodate even children as well as women,” he added.

Meanwhile, Eswatini Football Supporters Chairperson Madlakadlaka Dladla thanked EFA for finally availing the replicas and hoped that the prices would be reduced for them to be able to buy them. “It was long overdue and I would like to urge supporters to buy the replicas as we are hoping that we will get a sponsor, who will reduce the price for us,” Dladla said.
