MBABANE – Moneni Pirates National Supporters Committee (NSC) has banned two of their own from attending matches for the rest of the season.

The ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni as they are fondly known in football circles, have banned their two  supporters, who were identified as Sabelo Maseko and Roy Mabandla Rakies Hlophe with immediate effect for allegedly displaying unsporting behaviour and hooliganism tendencies in the ‘Sea Robbers’ of Moneni’s last match against Green Mamba FC at Mayaluka Stadium in Big Bend. The game was played last Saturday. Green Mamba won 2-0. The two were reportedly engaged prior to the game and warned against their behaviour, but allegedly displayed same at the end of the match. Pirates have further threatened to take further action against the duo. “Moneni Pirates Football Club will not tolerate any unsporting behaviour from its supporters and warning any supporter who might be contemplating or has been influenced to participate, whether for any reason on such an act.

Hard

“We will not shy away from taking the hard line of disciplining any supporter who claims to love us for participating in any form of violence in our games. Team officials and anyone at the stadium should not be subjected to injustice by violent supporters. “We further warn their two friends (names withheld) that we are watching their behaviour and we will not hesitate to punish them even more.” reads the statement from Pirates NSC Chairman Mpendulo ‘Shushu’ Dlamini, in part. The suspension comes at a time when fans in the country are in the spotlight for the wrong reasons, following continued attacks on referees. Meanwhile, back in October Manzini Wanderers banned a fan identified as Mzwandile Msibi for invading the technical area. The fan latter announced that he was joining Young Buffaloes.
