MBABANE – With India’s ICC World Cup dream already tarnished, Eswatini is aiming to at least beat Cameroon in their last game this morning.

ICC is an acronym for International Cricket Council (ICC). Eswatini will play Cameroon at 9:30am in their last fixture of the sub-region Africa Group B qualifiers. Eswatini Men’s T20 charges led by Coach Delisa Malinga were swimming with the sharks in this group, but they managed a win against Gambia. Eswatini lost the other five matches against some of the continent’s high ranking countries.

“What is positive is that they were not rolling us over like it was the case last year. This year, we were coming close and we had a lot of positives in all the games. Tanzania was a top team in the group but we restricted them to fewer than 190 runs and we went above 100 runs,” Malinga said. From last year’s single win, the coach further said they wanted to add a second win before travelling back home.

“We’re ready prepared and we had a rest day today (yesterday). Everyone is out for a convincing win. The future is bright and we’ve got calls back home saying we have improved from last year’s performance,” the coach said.
The qualifiers are staged in Rwanda and the two top teams in the group will join Kenya and Rwanda in the qualifiers finals.
