KALANGA – Njabulo Magagula came from the bench to steer Green Mamba to their fourth win of the season.

This was during an MTN Premier League game played here yesterday. The Correctional side came to this game with confidence high after whipping rookies Seven Dreams 3-0 in the previous fixture in the same venue.‘Bobhejane’, as Tambankulu Callies are fondly known, suffered their third defeat of the season, in the game that started 21 minutes from the scheduled time. Coming back to the game, the Ernest Mavuso-led side left it for the last 20 minutes to collect the maximum points, through Magagula, who was introduced 11 minutes into the second stanza.

He curled a beautiful set piece which was given just outside the box and let fly a cracker, which gave Callies shot-stopper Ncanawe Ndlandla no chance between the sticks, about 21 minutes after being introduced. The Lubombo-based outfit which was led by assistant coach Vusisizwe Mahlalela, made the first attempt at goal 10 minutes into the game. This was when Neliso Myeni’s shot inside the box narrowly went wide.

Believe

Green Mamba’s captain Mxolisi Mkhonto could not believe his eyes when his well taken set piece hit the cross bar with goalkeeper Ndlandla at bay a few minutes into the second stanza. Green Mamba should have scored two goals in the dying minutes of the game, but Ndlandla made sure that the score remained 1-0 as he denied Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa twice, before referee Leticia Vienna blew her final whistle.
