MBABANE – Ruled out of the Manzini derby.

Manzini Wanderers have been dealt a major blow ahead of tomorrow’s fixture against Manzini Sea Birds, as one of their stars has been nabbed by the yellow card rule. Wanderers are not the only victims of this rule as Denver Sundowns and Seven Dreams suffer the same fate. The maroon and white ensemble, as Wanderers is affectionately known, will be without the services of their reliable and seasoned centre back Sihle Mkhonta, who has already accumulated three yellow cards in just five games played.

Mkhonta was one of the players the co-coaches of James Kunene and Terisayi Changara would not like to miss in a tricky fixture with Sea Birds, who have been dominating them over the years. The Manzini giants also have some pressure to win as they remain rock bottom of the log table with five defeats. Sundowns on other hand are set to be without their match winner Mike Dombo in a tough fixture against log leaders Young Buffaloes tomorrow. Dombo has proved his worth in the team as he once saved Sundowns who were trailing 2-0 to Mbabane Swallows during the game two of the league where he score a brace in the last five minutes of the game. Meanwhile, Seven Dreams, who are languishing in the bottom four, will face Royal Leopards on Sunday without their attacking midfielder Phumlani Dlamini.

In terms of Article 9.2 (1.1) of the MTN Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) rules and regulations, the trio became automatically suspended from participating in the next one match to be played by their teams after they accumulated three yellow cards. Article 9.2 (1.2) also posits that once a player gets six cautions in a season , they shall be suspended for the next two games while Article 9.3 (1.3) says the player is then charged with misconduct and if found guilty will be suspended for at least  three games  after accumulating nine cautions.
