MA CONSULTING ENGINEERS’ E20K FOR LRFA

EZULWINI – Investing in grassroots football secures the future of the sport.

This assurance was contained in Lubombo Regional Football Association (LRFA) Chairman Nichodemus Mashwama’s speech during the sponsorship presentation of E20 000, courtesy of MA Consulting Engineers Group of Companies. The presentation was held yesterday at the company’s premises at Ezulwini Valley View complex yesterday. The company’s Human Resource Director, Bonginkosi Dludlu, said the sponsorship was that of a five-week football tournament held in Siphofaneni between July and August. NMPS were the overall champions to pocket E5 000 first prize while the runners-up in Crystal Palace took home E3 000. The losing semifinalists, Home Defenders and Faster FC, will equally share E4 000 and the four losing quarterfinalists are to receive E1 000 each. These include Storm City, Renamo, New School and Mahashulane.

Due to their vast business commitments and projects, Dludlu regretted the delayed sponsorship handover but acknowledged the essence of investing in the youth, especially regional football which normally struggles in terms of financial support. “It is important to be involved in community development and we are excited to have partnered with you in this tournament. It’s our first football sponsorship. MA Consulting Engineers also assumes social responsibility projects that include building home structures for the less-privileged,” Dludlu said.

The LRFA chairman said the impact of the sponsorship was more important than its value. “The tournament sponsorship was a huge thing for us but what is more important is the impact of the sport in the society and to our sponsors, not the prize money. Investing in the regions gives the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) the bigger picture of football because it all starts at grassroots level,” Mashwama said. Mashwama further proposed a continuous partnership with MA Consulting Engineers that would give the sponsors the mileage across the four LRFA zones beyond Siphofaneni, which is in the central zone.
