MBABANE - Renowned striker Mfanufikile ‘Fash’ Ndzimandze has promised nothing but happiness to Mbabane Highlanders.

Speaking for the first time since his reported reunion with the club even before he was signed, the speedy forward declared he meant business on his return to the club since his unceremonious departure in 2018. “It’s good to be back, I’m so happy about it. I also can say that everyone at Highlanders will be happy. I’m all out to help the team,” he responded when asked about the latest reunion, his second at Highlanders where he had his best days as a proven goal poacher. ‘Fash’ said he was grateful to be given another chance and allayed fears about his of-the-field conduct. “The break I took last season helped me a lot as I did a lot of introspection and I can say I am ready and all out to play and make the team happy,” he said after also being made aware about his Facebook doubters.

Prospect

He was also asked about the prospect of facing his former team Moneni Pirates in the semifinals of the inaugural MoMo Cup tomorrow, ‘Fash’ said that was not a problem for him. “I am here now and I must stay focussed on helping Highlanders if I’m given the chance in the match,” he said.
The forward started his elite career at Mbabane Swallows before crossing the Rubicon. He has played for Manzini Wanderers and Pigg’s Peak Black Swallows as well. The latter were his last team. Meanwhile, Highlanders had set camp in Pretoria, South Africa for a couple of days and returned yesterday morning.

Camped

If they beat Pirates who also camped in Pretoria ahead of their league clash a few weeks ago, Highlanders who lost 0-1 will face the winner between elite rookies Nsingizini Hotspurs and National First Division League outfit Rangers who play at 9am. Pirates and Highlanders face off at 11:30am before the final at 4pm. Highlanders Coach Dumsani ‘DU’ Makhanya welcomed the striker and said he was going to help the team. He now adds to forwards Josef Lekata and another former Mbabane Swallows and Green Mamba player in Musa Dlamini.
