EZULWINI – Players have declared war ahead of the MoMo Cup semifinals.

The players were speaking during the MoMo Cup press conference yesterday. Moneni Pirates’ Xolani ‘Messi’ Ngwenya thanked supporters for voting for their team to be in the semifinals. “I want to thank supporters who voted us into this cup. They believed in us; We have to return the favour by winning the tournament. We have beaten Highlanders in the previous league game. However, this is a new game altogether, so we must brace ourselves for a tough game,” said Ngwenya.

Meanwhile, Highlanders’ Aristote Tamuzi said they were all looking forward to the game. “Despite that I might not play, my team is okay and the spirit is high within the camp. We played them in the league and we must by all means avoid what happened in the previous league game; we are positive for a good game,” said Tamuzi.

Talented

Meanwhile, Pirates Coach Thembela Dlamini said they boasted a lot of talented players at their team. “We have one player who will not be available for selection and that is Siphesihle Nsimbini. He is battling with flu but we do hope he will recover soon. However, I believe minus one player, there are players who can do the job,” said Dlamini. He said he was looking at winning this cup for the first time with his team. Highlanders Coach Dumsani ‘Du’ Makhanya said the preparations were going well ahead of the games. “We would like to update Highlanders fans that all is going well in as far as the preparations are concerned. The players are responding well and the spirit is very high in the camp,” said Makhanya. He said they had played Pirates in the league and they were going to work harder to get better results. “They are ready for this game and want to make the supporters happy. This is the first tournament and it should start with Highlanders to win it,” he said.
